Description:  Municipalities regularly work with the media, and it is difficult to find the right message and how to deliver it. Anne E. Schwartz, veteran public relations and communications strategist, will instruct participants on how to craft messages that get the media’s attention and tell the right story. This training will help cover the “do’s and don’ts” of municipal media strategy

Target Audience: Public Information Officers, Communication Professionals, and anyone that may be authorized to speak on behalf of the municipality.

Presenter:

Anne E. Schwartz is a veteran print and broadcast journalist, author, and a nationally recognized trainer of strategic communication and public relations for emergency management professionals as an adjunct professor of the National Criminal Justice Training Center. She served as communications director for the Milwaukee Police Department for eight years. In 1991, as a reporter for the Milwaukee Journal broke the story of Jeffrey Dahmer. Currently, Anne supports the CVMIC membership in her work with the law firm of Crivello, Nicholas & Hall responding to critical incidents.
