Confined Space Entry — New Employees | In-Person

CVMIC will provide a continental breakfast and lunch as part of the training day.

This full-day program is designed for new employees who have not been through a confined space entry training program in the past. There are two elements to this training. The first half of the day will be dedicated to classroom awareness training while the second half of the day will conducting practical hands-on entry training. The hands-on portion will include a review of entry equipment, including a simulated entry and use of actual entry equipment (e.g., air monitors, tri-pod, fall harnesses, ventilators, winch systems, etc.), and NON-ENTRY rescue techniques.
The training will cover the following areas:
• What is a confined space and permit-required confined space
• Regulatory requirements to ensure safe confined space entry (OSHA & DSPS)
• Atmospheric testing and monitoring requirements and techniques
• The roles and responsibilities of the entrant, attendant and entry supervisor
• Confined space entry preparation and planning
• Non-Entry Rescue activities
• Hands-on practice applying what you learned
